Are you recycling enough?

Written by Admin on October 28, 2009.

The subject of recycling is upon one which the Labour Party has been very vocal and introduced sweeping changes over the last decade, which have to all intents and purposes penalised those who do not recycle a certain percentage of their waste. Even though the Conservative party, who many believe will win power at the next election, has suggested a carrot rather than a stick approach to recycling there is no doubt that green taxes are here to stay and they will edge higher and higher

As a consequence, we all need to look at how much waste we actually do recycle each and every year and how we can improve this figure. If each home in the UK improved their own recycling stats by just a couple of percent each year this would have a massive impact on the UK waste management industry. UK landfill sites are already full and with the EU looking to introduce significant fines for countries who do not hit recycling targets this could end up being a very difficult and very expensive period for UK government.

There are now more recycling units and recycling companies in the UK than ever before and literally there is no excuse for any business or any consumer not to at least consider recycling the vast majority of their waste.
