Day 12 (Friday) of 5k Training – Upper Body Workout

It’s the weekend bay-bee!!

EXERCISE

I used my EA Sports Active Wii game to do an upper body workout with two 5 lb weights.

  • alternating bicep curls (2 sets of 24)
  • alternating shoulder presses (2 sets of 24)
  • alternating triceps kickbacks (2 sets of 20)
  • bent over rows (2 sets of 12)
  • bent over rows with triceps kickbacks (2 sets of 12)
  • bicep curls with shoulder presses (2 sets of 16)
  • upright rows (1 set of 16)
  • bicep curls with upright rows (2 sets of 16)
  • front shoulder raises (1 set of 16)
  • lateral shoulder raises (2 sets of 16)
  • standing twists (1 set of 14)

Time: 45:24 minutes

Calories Burned: 115 – according to my Polar FT4

It’s definitely time to increase the weights. After I move to the new apartment, I’m going to buy a set of 8 lb and 10 lb weights, as well as another pair of gloves.  Someone *cough BG* let my pooch chew holes in the pair I have. Ugh!

NUTRITION

Breakfast: maple and (reduced) brown sugar oatmeal & 1 fuji apple

Lunch: protein shake

Dinner:  chicken and broccoli dijon with leftover dirty rice

Snacks (midday and evening): fruit medley (cherries, peaches, pineapples, pears, and grapes)

Drink: water all day

I am soooo happy!  After such a crappy week, I finally had a day that was 100% on plan. Go me!
